Derby Cathedral Group Tours
Group rate £7.20 per person. Minimum of 8 people, maximum of 12 people.
Description
The Cathedral Church of All Saints was founded in 943 and is situated in the heart of the City. It is one of Derby’s most beautiful and historic sites and holds many important monuments of Derby’s and Derbyshire’s past. Inside, you will find many treasures such as the tomb of Bess of Hardwick, a memorial to Florence Nightingale and the impressive wrought iron screen by Robert Bakewell.
Originally an Anglo-Saxon foundation, we have an early 16th century tower, a nave which was re-designed and re-constructed in the classical style of Enlightenment architecture just after the construction of the Silk Mill in 1725 and a retrochoir which was added in the mid-twentieth century.
There is so much to find out about the Cathedral’s stories and history. A tour with an experienced guide can be pre-booked and will provide information on the history and heritage of this iconic Grade I listed building.
Minimum of 8 people, maximum of 12 people.
Available Monday-Saturday, between 10.00am-12.00noon and 2.00pm-4.00pm, subject to guide availability.
