Built on what is widely regarded as the site of the world’s first factory and located within the Derwent Valley Mills UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Museum of Making celebrates Derby’s 300-year history of making and innovation to inspire new creativity. Designed and made by the people and industries of Derby, this innovative museum offers something for everyone with a vibrant programme of exhibitions and events, a riverside café, maker shop and a hireable workshop. Insider tours offer groups the chance to discover the history of this fascinating building and its collections with our knowledgeable guides.

The Group Tour of the Museum of Making at Derby Silk Mill is part of a Suite of Derby Tours that are near enough to walk from venue to venue.  The other tours are Group Tour of Pickford's HouseDerby Cathedral Group TourGroup Tour of the Derby Museum and Art Gallery and Derby Riverboat Group Trips.  Each tour lasts approximately one hour.
