Description
Explore the wonders of the night sky with Derby & District Astronomical Society, celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2024
Following the success of our April 2024 event, join us on Cathedral Green for a chance to view the planet Saturn, as well as nebulae, galaxies and star clusters through a variety of powerful telescopes.
Learn to recognise some of the brighter stars and constellations, supported by society members, on hand to answer any questions regarding telescopes, getting into astronomy, or all things astronomy & space related!
Continue your space exploration inside the Museum of Making with the society’s collection of meteorites, and a moon globe signed by Apollo astronauts! Light refreshments will also be available to purchase from the Italian Mill Bar.
Participants are advised to wear warm clothes and bring a torch. In case of bad weather this event will take place inside the Italian Mill at the Museum of Making.
Suitable for all ages – under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Booking essential.
