Oktoberfest Comes to The Old Bell Hotel in Derby

The spirit of Oktoberfest is coming to The Old Bell Hotel in Derby for a weekend filled with German beer, German food and plenty of Bavarian atmosphere.

Taking place from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September 2026, our historic bars will be given an Oktoberfest-inspired twist as we celebrate one of the world’s most famous beer festivals in the characterful surroundings of The Old Bell.

The Official Opening of Oktoberfest

The celebrations officially begin at 6pm on Friday 25 September with the ceremonial tapping of the keg. Inspired by the famous Munich tradition, the tapping will mark the opening of our Oktoberfest weekend.

There is no need to book and no admission charge. Simply join us from 6pm, grab a stein from the bar, and get into the Bavarian spirit!

German Beers and Bavarian Flavours

Throughout the weekend, visitors can discover a hand-picked selection of German and Bavarian-inspired beers.

The special selection of beers will be released incrementally across our social media, over the next couple of weeks. From crisp golden lagers to rich, malty Märzens, the selection offers something for everyone.

A selection of German food will also be available, providing the perfect accompaniment to the weekend’s beers.

Oktoberfest Atmosphere in a Historic Derby Venue

Oktoberfest music will be playing throughout the bars, bringing a lively Bavarian soundtrack to the distinctive surroundings of The Old Bell Hotel.
