Description
Derby’s annual Silk Mill Festival, including a march and rally, will take place on Saturday 20 June.
The march will begin assembling from 10am in the Market Place, setting off at 11am and finishing at Cathedral Green. There will be speeches, live music, and a range of trade union and community stalls to visit.
The festival commemorates the historic Silk Mill lockout of 1833–34, when hundreds of workers were locked out during a dispute over better working conditions and trade union rights.
Join us for a day of commemoration and community, with a march, speeches, stalls, live music, and food and drink.
