Rights and Independence – exploring the impact of 30 years of Disability Direct.
Presented as part of Disability Direct’s 30th Anniversary, ‘Rights and Independence – The Story of Disability Direct’ will explore the history of Disability in Derby and the impact of the charity on local people’s lives over the past 30 years.
Co-produced with Derby Museums and under guidance from the East Midlands Oral History Archive, the evening will contain new oral history recordings, capturing stories from the community, and performances of specially commissioned poems and spoken word pieces, written and performed by local disabled poets.
