Description
It is nearly 10 years since Derby City Council agreed that Derby should become a “sister” city to the West Bank city of Hebron. Derby Peace Week is a good time to reinvigorate the Derby & Derbyshire Friends of Hebron. Palestine’s Ambassador to the UK, Dr Husam Zomlot, has accepted an invitation to speak at a meeting at 6.30 pm on Thursday 21st September at QUAD. Dr Zomlot is going to help us answer the question: “How can Derby help bring peace with justice to Palestinians?” There will be short speeches to welcome the Ambassador to Derby by Pauline Latham MP, Nazir Hussain (the Chairman of the Jamia Mosque) and other local religious and political leaders.
