Description

In 1924, Dracula first graced the stage at The Grand Theatre in Derby. This Halloween, we’re celebrating 100 years of the iconic vampire with Creatures of the Night - Halloween on Sadler Gate.

From 4pm to 8pm, join us for a family-friendly evening packed with Halloween entertainment! Explore the trick-or-treat trail, where local businesses welcome trick-or-treaters for a fun and safe experience. Wander through Sadler Gate which will be transformed with spooky decorations, including haunting window displays, and visit themed stalls offering delicious Halloween treats like popcorn, candy floss, and sweet tuck shops. Blacksmiths Yard will host the infamous Derby Dracula, while ghost stories will come to life right on the street!

Be sure to capture the magic and share your best Halloween photos using #LoveSadlerGate for a chance to win in our photo competition.

Then, from 9pm, it’s adults-only for The March of the Vampires. Dress to impress as Sadler Gate is taken over by vampires, with themed cocktails, live entertainment, and prizes for “Derby’s Best Dressed Dracula” in children, adults, and even pets categories!

This event is brought to you by the Sadler Gate businesses and supported by Dracula Returns to Derby, an AHRC-funded project led by the University of Derby in collaboration with Derby Museums, Derby Theatre, Bournemouth University, and Sheffield Hallam University. It connects Derby with the world’s most famous vampire through public workshops and events.

Family fun: 4pm – 8pm (Trick-or-treat trail, stalls, ghost stories, & more)
