Experience the magic of Christmas amid the elegant surroundings of one of the Northern Belle’s 1930s-style Pullman carriages.
Relax in your luxuriously-upholstered armchair before tucking into a seven-course gourmet meal accompanied by a bottle of fine wine of your choice.
As prestigious magazine Condé Nast Traveller said when it recently named the Northern Belle Britain’s top luxury train and one of the world’s Best 10: “It’s all about the food – and the scenery, but mostly about the food – on this lovingly-restored train which zig-zags its way across the countryside. “The meal services are exquisite, offering fine dining crafted mostly from UK suppliers so you can enjoy classic British fare as the heaths, meadows and dales roll on by.”
While you dine, gaze through the picture window at the ever-changing scenery as the Northern Belle – described by actor Bill Nighy on Channel 5 last year as “the Grand Dame of luxury travel” – meanders majestically through the winter countryside. Then, after making your selections from our famous Great British Cheese Board, perhaps follow it all with a brandy or a glass of lovely vintage port.
The Northern Belle’s chef Matthew Green scours Britain for the very finest ingredients to make sure this is a Christmas lunch our passengers will always remember. And just to add an extra touch of festive magic to the day, our own conjuror will stroll from table to table to baffle everybody with some of his mind-bending tricks.
