Description

Join artist Anna Roebuck and create your own faux bling using recycled materials, objects and some metal magic! The workshop is suitable for all ages, young to old. Drop in and create a key ring, a pendant or take a little more time and make a unique vessel or pen pot.

Anna Roebuck is a mixed media jeweller and artist, based at The Making House in Burton on Trent. She’s best known for using recycled plastics, but the joy of material experimentation, is core to her practice, leading her to use a variety of materials and techniques. She has been teaching creative workshops for many years, delivering all sorts of classes and sharing her joy of making with all ages.

‘Made in the NHS’ is a project which brings staff from the UHDB hospitals together with artists, makers and arts organisations to share creative skills, encourage wellbeing, give the staff some ‘time out’ and celebrate the heritage of making at the NHS. Staff are able to embrace an amazing range of skills and opportunities including sculpture, ceramics, metal working, paper cutting, Japanese basket weaving, textiles and woodland crafts to name but a few. The project is part of the staff wellbeing element of the Air Arts Programme, Air Arts is the UHDB Hospitals Arts charity. We are pleased that Belper based  community organisation Fleet Arts have also been working with us on this project. Air Arts are delighted to be working with The Museum of Making on the ‘Made in the NHS: Intervention’ exhibition at The Assemblage. We have beautiful work in a range of creative mediums made by eight staff members and five of the artists on display. To celebrate  the opening of this exhibition we have four different workshops led by some of the ‘Made in the NHS’ artists.
