Description
Abigail Dean returns to Derby with her second thrilling novel, Day One, following the phenomenal success of her first, Girl A.
Day One is an unflinching and heart-breaking exploration of our obsession with tragedy – and what it really means to live it. A lone gunman wreaks havoc at a village school play.
At the epicentre of the tragedy is Marty, daughter of the teacher who dies trying to protect her pupils. What did she see? How is she involved? In the weeks and months following the killings, conspiracy theorists start questioning what happened as Marty’s story unravels.
Abigail will be in conversation with Professor Keith McLay, our Festival Chair and Provost for Learning and Teaching at the University of Derby.
