Description
Join us for the official FORMAT23 launch on the 16 March with exhibition previews taking place across the city of Derby followed by an afterparty at FORMAT’s HQ, QUAD.
Venues will be opening their doors from 5.00pm including QUAD, Museum of Making, Déda, Dubrek, Banks Mill, Derby Cathedral, City Lab, Derbion and Victoria Street.
The official opening of FORMAT23 will kick off with the following exhibition previews:
6.00pm, Déda – Speeches will be given by Steve Slater, Director of Déda and Roger Smith alongside DJ’s and performances playing music from the swinging 60’s.
6:45pm, Derby Cathedral – Artist Louise Beer and representatives from Derby Cathedral will open the new intimate and contemplative exhibition Gathering Light.
7:30pm, Museum of Making – Artist Oliver Frank Chanarin, Forma, Janine Derbyshire and Tony Butler from Derby Museums will introduce brand new commission A Perfect Sentence.
8:15pm, QUAD – Launch of the FORMAT23 Main exhibition, Radical Souls. As well as welcome speeches from FORMAT Staff, Patrons and Partners.
The FORMAT23 After Party will take place at QUAD from 8:30pm until late, featuring DJ’s, food and more.
QUAD will be closed to the public for the FORMAT23 Launch Events so booking is essential to guarantee entry.
