Description

Nestled in the rolling countryside of Derbyshire, Foremark is a stunning 230-acre nature reserve made up of woodland, heathland, open countryside and open water.

Owned by Severn Trent and cared for in partnership with the National Trust, Foremark Reservoir has played a vital role in the region’s water supply since the 1970s. Today, it is also a haven for wildlife and a much-loved destination for visitors.

The reserve includes Carver’s Rocks, a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI), and one of the last remaining areas of lowland heath in Derbyshire—making Foremark a place of both natural beauty and national importance.

Popular with families, walkers and nature lovers alike, Foremark offers a network of scenic woodland trails, a multi-use bridleway, and open spaces ideal for picnics and outdoor play.
