Workshop with Sarah Poekert, Artistic Director of Thrive Dance 

Description

Sarah’s work pushes the boundaries of how we view dance. She is interested in how to allow performers to take ownership of the space while also giving the audience impetus and room to play within it - and her class has a similar atmosphere.

You can expect an improvisation and creative based class which includes a deep exploration of texture and landscape, contact and partnering tasks, uncovering of movement layers using sensory images and text - all of which is then broken up by playful and curious grooves to a pop song - just so we don’t take ourselves too seriously.
