Description
The Indie Night presents ‘Vic Inn Sessions’ - this is the first of three nights of live new music at The Vic Inn; first up are Alchemy, The Cavs and Moral Panic.
‘ALCHEMY are an exciting young up and coming indie rock band consisting of brothers Peter (aged 21) and Philip (aged 18) as well friends Brad (aged 24), Ollie (aged 19) and Tom (aged 19). Each of these talented individuals bring their own specific skills to create music with a meaningful discourse and enjoyable sound. The band formed in 2023 and since has released 6 tracks, as well as a live studio session, their first single being Blessings on New Year’s Day 2024, which received over 24,000 streams. Since then the Derbyshire-based band have played in their home city, Derby, as well as Nottingham, Sheffield, Birmingham and even Soho in London. In the summer of 2024, they hosted a gig at their local Church in Belper, and with other local support acts, raised just shy of £1,000 for the mental health charity “Mind”. The band have a diverse range of influences spanning from Kings of Leon to Radiohead and pride themselves in taking inspiration from artists within the genre as well as adding their own authentic twist. The five piece are continuing to release music and perform at gigs, especially in the light of their new release, “Chains." It is clear given their first full year working together that this band are on the rise and already making their mark in the music scene.’
’The Cavs pride themselves on their highly energetic live performances, catchy yet powerful guitar riffs and thought provoking lyrics. This has subsequently earned them a loyal fan following across the country. Whether you are a fan of classic indie rock or looking for something fresh and innovative, The Cavs are a band you wont want to miss.
Currently working with producer Tim Thomas (Elbow, Gorillaz, Paul Heaton) on a four track EP, set for release in late 2024, that will showcase the song writing capabilities of the band with Tim returning the band to an avenue of raw guitar sounds. Recently (19/10/24), the band have sold out their biggest hometown show to date at Manchester’s Band on the Wall (530 cap) and have experience filling festival tents across the UK at festivals such as the Isle of Wight Festival and YNOT Festival.
Live music promoters ‘This Feeling; tipped The Cavs as ‘Big in 2023’ and XS Manchester radio have labelled them as ‘Ones to Watch’ for this year.Their previous releases have gained remarkable momentum, enjoying airplay on stations such as BBC Introducing Radio Lancashire, BBC Radio Manchester, multiple XS Manchester ‘Records of the Week’ and many plays on Radio X with presenter John Kennedy describing The Cavs most recent single, People Like Me, as an "Instant Hit". In an inspiring endorsement, esteemed singer Simon Le Bon (Duran Duran) personally selected their single 'Again’ as a favourite on his US radio show.’
‘Moral Panic are an exciting 5 piece Indie/Punk band, formed late 2023 and hailing from Derby, England.
We take inspiration from bands such as Arctic Monkeys, Queens of the Stone age, Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes, and just about anything we think sounds good! We are ambitious and expansive with our range of sound, nothings off limits, no barrier unbroken or unexplored.’
