STARRY NIGHTS*- Vincent Van Gogh’s (1853-1890) beautiful and iconic painting of the night sky has, overtime, spoken to people from all walks of life in many different ways - inspiring other artists, musicians, designers, teachers, students and many more.
The theme of this exhibition explores how the term Starry Nights, rather than Van Gogh’s painting itself, inspired the artist. Although in some of the paintings Mitchell has utilised Vincent’s favourite colours of blue and yellow. In her mind’s eye she 'saw creatures, flowers, stars, moons, glittering and sparkling under a night sky' which has resulted in a combination of paintings, digital works and a small collection of merchandise.
