Visit the seaside this summer without needing to head to the coast! Grab a bucket and spade, find a deckchair and enjoy the British seaside at the top of the Heights of Abraham. With live music, a children's challenge, a giant sandpit and of course the return of the Punch and Judy show, it's set to be a great event for all the family!

Stormy Stan makes a special appearance

Stormy Stan, the friendly mascot from the RNLI, will be making an appearance on the 22nd and 23rd of July to launch the seaside themed week. He'll be meeting and greeting our visitors and posing for photographs. Make sure to visit the RNLI stall too and find out more about the importance of their work! 

Giant Sandpit

We may not have the sea, but we do have the sand! We've transformed an area of the Heights into a giant sandpit, complete with deckchairs and buckets and spades galore! Bring the whole family along for some seaside fun. Access to the sandpit is included in the admission price.

Seaside SEARCH

Meet our Beach Bathers, Seaside Clyde and Beachy Bonnie! They're 'Britain's Best Beach-Goers' and have been to every beach in the country. When they heard there was a beach in Matlock Bath they just had to come along! Unfortunately they've lost their seaside essentials and need the help of a young pair of eyes to find them! 

The Seaside Search is a free activity for children of all ages (and enthusiastic adults too!).

The Punch and Judy show returns

Back for his 18th season, Mr Punch and his beautiful wife Judy bring a seaside special show this year! With all of their favourite friends plus some new faces too. Punch will be up to his usual tricks, but will he still be eating sausages this year? 

Live music every day

Each day there will be live music performances from a variety of great acts, including Kootch, Double Standards and Marcato performing on the Amphitheatre stage, and Rob Jourdain, Timothy Hoad and the Herron Brothers performing on the Pergola stage.

Arts and Crafts

Head to the Woodland Corner for a free arts and crafts workshop. Our marvellous maker is focusing on all things seaside, so come along and have a go. All materials are provided and you can take home what you make!

Barrel Organ

Near the Woodland Adventure playground you'll find a vintage barrel organ playing classic seaside songs. Feel free to ask the player to have a go at turning the handle yourself. Barrel organ is present from 22nd - 27th July.
