Join us for the last event of the festival, where two long standing Derby poetry nights will join forces to celebrate LGBTQ+ and female voices. Salty, formally She Speaks, and Word Wise, have always been proud to support underrepresented voices in the poetry world, now with featured poet, Scarlett Ward, we offer you a night of protest, celebration and joy, with an open mic to close the festival.

Bio:

Scarlett Ward is a queer writer living in Brighton but born in Staffordshire. Her debut collection ‘Ache‘ was published by Verve Poetry Press in 2019 and since then she has been shortlisted for the Rebecca Swift foundation’s Women’s Poet Prize. She has delivered poetry workshops for the BBC’s ‘contains strong language‘ programme and for Verve Poetry Festival.
