Description
Psychic Dancehall is a new electronic and experimental music festival in Derby, UK.
Psychic Dancehall Festival takes place across two venues, The Wardwick and Dubrek Studios in Derby, on 22nd March 2025, bringing an unmissable selection of electronic and experimental artists to the Midlands.
The Lineup:
- The Utopia Strong: Kosmiche electronic trio featuring Steve Davis (World Champion snooker player), Kavus Torabi (Knifeworld, Cardiacs, Gong), and Mike York (Coil). Their critically acclaimed 2022 album ‘International Treasure’ has been a major success.
- Rosie Tee: Birmingham-based composer and performer blending electronica, jazz, psych, and avant-pop. She will perform with a full band, showcasing her mini-album ‘Night Creature’ released this year via Kikimora Records.
- James Adrian Brown: Ex-Pulled Apart By Horses guitarist turned electronic adventurer.
- Hawksmoor: Hauntological, Krautrock artist recently signed to Soul Jazz Records’ exclusive roster.
- TR^NKS: A new project by Christian Davies of Nottingham indie-rock legends Six By Seven, combining big beats and shoegaze for anthemic energy.
- James Glew: Derby-based producer and host of the local Electronic Music Open Mic (EMOM) night at Dubrek Studios.
Curation Partners:
Kikimora Records, Birmingham-based record label and promoters, join as curation partners for Dubrek Studios. They bring imaginative electronic artists from across the UK to showcase innovative music.
Festival Details:
Psychic Dancehall Festival is the brainchild of Derby-based music journalist, DJ, and promoter James Thornhill. It is supported with funding from the Arts Council’s Grassroots Music Fund.
