Description
International Women’s Day Derby Festival 2023 will run from Wednesday 8th – Sunday 12th March
Volunteers are busy raising funds and planning an uplifting, diverse and liberating programme of activism , workshops, community connection and creative expression. A flavour of what’s to come is shared below, with more details coming soon – watch this space! Wednesday 8th March – ‘The Big Conversation: Fear Is Not Freedom’ – Derby v. misogyny; launch of our HERstory animation and documentary film showing. Afternoon & evening events.
Thursday 9th March: Real Talk host their regular open mic with an IWD theme at Bar Social, Victoria Street with writing workshop 6pm, open mic from 7pm
Friday 10thth March – Feminist Friday Open Mic Night – powerful poetry, spoken word, sisterhood songs & Rebel Women’s Choir
Saturday 11th March – Big community festival day with marching for women’s rights (10am), then activities, stalls, performances, and exhibition at Museum of Making 11am-3pm
Sunday 12th March – Self-Care Sunday online wellbeing sessions
