Description
A free festival exploring sustainability, creativity and community action at the Museum of Making in Derby on Wednesday 15 July 2026.
EC Festival 2026: Ecological Citizenship for Everyone, brings together local residents, artists, researchers, educators and organisations for a day of workshops, conversations and hands-on activities focused on creating positive environmental change.
The event aims to explore how “ecological citizenship” can be put into practice in everyday life, encouraging people to connect across disciplines and communities to imagine more sustainable futures together.
The festival is open to everyone - from those just beginning to engage with environmental issues to those already leading projects and looking at how to sustain long-term impact.
The free event will feature creative sessions, collaborative discussions and opportunities for networking and shared learning throughout the day. Lunch and refreshments will be provided and all attendees are invited to the evening social at local community garden Electric Daisy after the festival.
The festival is hosted by the EPSRC funded Ecological Citizen(s) Network+ research project. UKRI funded project: EP/W020610/1
