Description
Derby Caribbean Carnival returns for a full day of vibrant celebration, bringing together music, culture and community in one of the city’s biggest summer events.
The carnival troupe procession leaves Derby City Centre at 12pm and travels along a 4km route, arriving at Osmaston Park at approximately 3pm. Expect colourful costumes, live performance and high-energy street carnival atmosphere throughout the journey.
Once at the park, the family fun day offers something for everyone, including Caribbean catering stalls, arts and craft stalls, funfair rides, a beer tent and a wide range of refreshments.
Live music takes centre stage with international artists Bushman and Prince Malachi performing with a backing band, alongside support acts including Baby People Music Hub performance showcase and carnival troupe dance exhibitions, with more acts still to be announced.
The park will also host sound systems throughout the day, including Enchanta Sound System (Derby) and Gemini Don Sound (Birmingham), keeping the atmosphere going with classic and contemporary Caribbean sounds.
A true highlight of Derby’s summer calendar, the carnival celebrates culture, diversity and community spirit from start to finish.
