Description
Cog in the Wheel is a dance storybook unfolding on stage, revealing the impact on our lives of the constant use of mobile technology and hustle culture.
The form is evocative of dance and movement found on social media; simultaneously celebrating and dismissing the individual. It’s a metaphor for capitalism, and how work seamlessly fits into our world.
Five individuals in identical overalls choreograph movement that is harder to escape and disconnect from.
Def Motion is a Midlands-based crew of d/Deaf, hard of hearing, hearing and neurodiverse artists that perform shows infusing street dance with theatre and visual vernacular. Currently they are developing and touring their brand new show: Cog In The Wheel, commissioned by City Grants and produced by Deaf Explorer.
