Join us for a rousing and spirited Last Night of the Proms, featuring a ‘Best of British’ programme of popular music, culminating in the timeless classics of the Last Night of the Proms.
The Derwent Valley Wind Band are delighted to return to the Derby Theatre stage at the end of this year’s proms season with an uplifting evening of music, celebrating the very Best of British. Our programme will include the sounds of James Bond, The Beatles, and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
In this, the 80th anniversary year of VE day we’ll also have a rousing musical tribute to the sounds of the era.
We are very excited to be joined by solo Soprano Amanda Bonsall. Amanda is an incredibly versatile performer equally at home with jazz, musical theatre, and opera.
Our guests for the evening are the show stopping Ignite UK Chorus, a women’s unaccompanied four-part harmony chorus based locally. Their performances of barbershop and contemporary favourites are highly sought after.
Our concert will also highlight the invaluable work of Stand To, a Derbyshire based Veterans’ charity.
