Pickford’s House - a Grade I listed town house
Pickford’s House belonged to the 18th Century architect Joseph Pickford; it is a celebration of Georgian living with stunning furniture and fittings. Situated on Friargate, Pickford’s House is a professional showcase of his work and family home of the Pickford’s. Its period rooms illustrate aspects of domestic life from the 18th to the 20th centuries. Including fabulous features such as the imposing dining room, built to attract new clients, and the repurposed cellars that doubled as air raid shelters!
Ceremonies and Celebrations
This charming wedding location is perfect for a more intimate celebration of 25 or fewer guests, either for the whole day, for a fine dining experience post ceremony or a ceremony before moving onto a larger reception. This may not be our largest venue, but it has a lot to offer!
The Dining Room - The period dining room, with its romantic colours, soft lighting, and elegant furnishing, lends itself wonderfully as a space for a ceremony to remember or to indulge in a fine dining experience.
The Kitchen and Scullery – This wonderful room can be transformed into the perfect ceremony space for a smaller group or is ideal to serve your drinks and canapes to guests before they head towards the gardens.
The Gardens - The beautiful Georgian Garden, with fragrant herbs and the heady perfume of Jasmine filling the air, makes a delightful space for your ceremony or to enjoy drinks with your guests, as well as creating a wonderful backdrop for your photos.
Exclusive Access
Wedding venue hire includes exclusive access of the house and gardens, providing your guests with the chance to explore this unique museum and the freedom to choose your own catering and special touches.
