Description
Chapel Street Arts Centre, formerly the home of Déda, is Derby's vibrant new hub for music, dance, theatre, and workshops. Managed by Derby LIVE, the centre hosts a diverse programme including concerts, dance classes, theatre performances, and spectacular drag pageants.
The centre supports emerging talent and community participation, offering classes in jazz, commercial, tap, salsa, street dance, ballet, and burlesque, as well as events like Cube Salsa Evenings and Derbyshire Drag Pageant. Young people aged 16+ can join the LIVE Wires programme for weekly arts and theatre workshops, gaining hands-on experience and mentorship in acting, directing, stage design, and lighting.
Music lovers can enjoy performances from Derby Jazz and other groups, featuring tribute concerts, international quartets, and innovative jazz experiences. Chapel Street Arts Centre continues Derby’s rich cultural legacy, providing a space for creativity, learning, and exceptional live performances for all ages.
