Description

Alvaston Park is a picturesque, riverside park covering 85 acres. It's situated in the south of Derby, about two miles from the city centre. The Park has successfully secured Green Flag Award status for the last 5 years.  

Alvaston Park offers a wealth of activities from fishing, exploring the science garden, riding your BMX, playing football to enjoying a leisurely walk around the historic lake.  So whether you want to learn, be active or relax, there's something for everyone.

Alvaston Park Friends

Alvaston Park Friends is a group created to facilitate the involvement of the local community, and thus make the park a better place for all of its visitors.  The Friends group have been very successful so far and with many ideas for future improvements.  The group were the inspiration behind the Science Garden seen on the park today, along with hosting the very successful Alvaston Park Family Fun Day which takes place in July.  For further information and how you can get involved, please visit the Alvaston Park Friends website.

Accessibility

There is disabled access to the park, car parking facilities and level paths around the park that are suitable for wheelchair users. Play areas, pavilion and Waterside Cafe are all accessible by wheelchair.  Disabled toilets are access from outside the building a radar key, when the building is open.
