Alexandra Hotel
Description
Established as the birthplace of Derby CAMRA in 1974, The Alexandra Hotel continues to champion real ale to this day. With a rotating selection of six or more cask ales, three keg options, and a variety of bottled beers, cans, and ciders, it’s a true haven for beer lovers.
Just a short stroll from Derby train station, the Alex sits on the edge of the city and offers a warm, traditional pub atmosphere. Inside, a central bar divides a classic lounge and a cosy bar area. Railway memorabilia brings character to the lounge and outdoor space, while the bar showcases vintage breweriana.
Upstairs, the pub offers four comfortable letting rooms for overnight stays.
The Alex also hosts occasional themed food nights and serves a simple yet satisfying menu of bar snacks, including homemade sausage rolls, pork pies, and freshly filled cobs.
One of the best real ale pubs in Derby – full of charm and character.”
