Description

Join us for day two of our Halloween weekender for a day of tattooing in the unique surroundings of the Museum on the Wardwick (Derby’s former central library) featuring a reunion of artists from Derby’s legendary Lifetime Tattoo studio on Monk Street.

For the first time in our 150-year history, you can get tattooed in the Museum. Artists will be producing unique artwork inspired by the collections housed across Derby Museums’ three sites – the Museum and Art Gallery, Museum of Making and Pickfords’ House. You’ll see the museum differently at this one-off event, featuring torchlit tours of the Museum and Art Gallery, live music, pop-up shops, tattoo merch and more.

With numerous artists appearing, there will be plenty to choose from:

All artists will exclusively be tattooing from flash specially designed for this event, including work inspired by the Derby Museums collection. Pre-bookings are available by attending our Halloween Party the night before – or walk up on the day and wait your turn. While you wait, browse the tattoo merch on sale, enjoy the exhibition of heritage tattooing equipment, and grab a comic book from the Cromford Collector’s Corner popup. In between tattoos, the artists will be running family-friendly draw-your-own flash sessions.

Derby blues heroes Beggar’s Bliss will be playing in the evening, and there will be torchlight tours of the Museum and Art Gallery. The bar will be open throughout, and snacks will be available.

Under 18s go free (over 18s only from 6pm)

Please adhere to tattooist’s advice in advance of any planned tattoos, this includes good rest, limiting/avoiding alcohol, and eating well.
