“We are so used to think about what poetry says (“this is a poem about love!” or “this is a war poem”) and about how it says it (“this poem is good/bad” or “what a wonderful metaphor!”), but what changes when we look at what poetry does? Join Dr Julia Thomaz, from the School of Advanced Study and Poésie Grande Guerre, as she explores a new corpus of war poets to show that poetry – all poetry! – is still a social and cultural practice that matters.”
