Celebrate all things Tomb Raider at Derby Market Hall this October.
Join us at Derby Market Hall for a day-long celebration of Derby's most famous adventurer, Lara Croft. Whether you're a lifelong Tomb Raider fan, a retro gaming enthusiast, or looking for a fun family day out, Lara Croft Day brings together hands-on activities, classic gaming and an epic evening party in honour of Derby's gaming icon.
Lara Crafts with Artcore (11am - 2pm)
Get creative with a series of free family-friendly workshops inspired by archaeology, adventure and exploration. Create and decorate your own clay artefacts, fossils, amulets and ancient-inspired treasures, or take part in a clay tile and relief-making activity. Hosted by Artcore on the main floor of the Market Hall, these drop-in sessions are perfect for young adventurers and budding explorers.
Retro Tomb Raider Gaming Zone (All Day)
Step back into gaming history and experience Lara Croft's adventures as they were originally played. Thanks to Derby Computer Museum, visitors can enjoy:
- Two 1990s/2000s PCs running classic Tomb Raider games
- A PlayStation 1 featuring Tomb Raider I, II and III
- A PlayStation 2 loaded with Tomb Raider: Anniversary
Whether you're reliving childhood memories or discovering the franchise for the first time, it's the perfect chance to experience the games that made Lara Croft a global icon.
Tomb Raver Dance Party with DJ Rosco (5pm - 10pm)
As the sun goes down, the Market Hall transforms into the ultimate retro celebration. Join DJ Rosco on the Market Stage for Tomb Raver, an energetic evening packed with 90s girl-power anthems, dance-floor classics and nostalgic throwback hits. Expect big beats, iconic tracks and plenty of Lara Croft energy as we celebrate 30 years of Tomb Raider in style.
From family crafts and retro gaming to an unforgettable evening party, Lara Croft Day is a unique chance to celebrate one of Derby's greatest cultural exports. Best of all, it's completely free to attend. Come along and discover the adventure at Derby Market Hall.
