'Kids Have a Go' Pottery Throwing

Description

This fun, hands-on session with one of our experienced potters is perfect for budding young potters who want to have a go on the potter’s wheel and learn the basics of hand-throwing a pot.

During this 20-minute session, your child will:

• Centre the clay
• Open it out and pull up the walls
• Create their very own bowl

They can take their pot home to air-dry and paint if they wish. Please note: these pots will not be kiln fired or glazed. (If they would like a more in-depth experience with a kiln-fired, finished Denby glaze pot, our Pottery Throwing Experience is recommended. It builds on the skills learned in this session and is perfect for aspiring potters who want to take it further).

Who’s it for:

• Ages 8–16 (minimum height 3’6”)
• Suitable for all abilities, including complete beginners
• Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult
