The Indie Night presents ‘Jess Silk & Joe Solo’ live at Mr Shaws House for a double headliner gig as part of their UK Tour! It’s a real privilege to have them along to Derby to play one of our nights at Mr Shaws House… let’s meet the artists:

Jess Silk

Jess Silk is a guitarist, singer and songwriter from the Black Country. Her shouty but melodic brand of folk/punk music gets people sitting up and listening. Armed only with an increasingly sticker-covered acoustic guitar, lyrics right from the heart and a distinctive, gravelly voice that many don't expect, Jess plays to audiences up and down the UK and has shared stages with many well known names among the folk/punk scene.

Jess released her debut album, Break the Bottle, in May 2018 and has since shared a number of other releases including live EPs and full albums. Her latest EP, recorded at Metway Studios in Brighton, is due April 2025. She’s played festivals including Bearded Theory, Rebellion, Beautiful Days, Glastonbury (Left Field stage), and has supported the Levellers on tour.

Joe Solo

Joe Solo is an award-winning musician, writer, poet, activist, broadcaster and washing machine engineer from Scarborough. He has released 21 albums since 2004 and his songs have featured on Radio One, Radio Two and BBC6Music.

In 2024, Joe’s album ‘Sledgehammer Songs’ charted in the UK Folk and Download Charts and raised over £12,000 for community causes. His performances blend folk, punk and blues, offering a mix of humour, passion and politics.

This is going to be another epic night of music at Mr Shaws House and we look forward to seeing you there.
