Description
Get ready to celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Light!
Come and create your own eco-friendly Diwali lantern using biodegradable materials such as willow, bamboo and tissue paper. This year’s lantern theme is ‘Heroes’, so think about the heroes from the story of Diwali or from your own personal life. Who do you consider to be your hero? It could be a person, a character or even something that inspires you. You can pay tribute to your personal role model through your lantern decoration.
Our expert artist will be on hand to help and guide you throughout the workshop.
The workshop is suitable for adults, families and children aged 5+. Children under the age of 7 must be accompanied by an adult.
Illuminate your lantern with a battery-operated LED light (not included with your ticket) and bring your finished creation to the Derby Lantern Parade on Saturday 28 November. Showcase your beautiful lantern and help light up the city centre.
If you have a superhero costume, why not wear it to the parade? It will add an extra layer of fun and enjoyment to the event.
The Derby Lantern Parade is a fantastic family day out and not to be missed!
Please contact Surtal Arts (07986640448) to book your free ticket.
