Description
Returning for 2025, The Midland Railway – Butterley is hosting ‘Ale on the Rails’ A mixed traction event with Diesel and Steam alongside 10 visiting loco’s from DB Cargo UK.
This weekend will feature coaches that date back to 1866 with our vintage stock, 1950’s MK1 carriages and 1980’s built Mk3 carriages, show casing 160 years worth of carriage development.
Swanwick Junction complex will have free Bus rides, railwayman’s church, kids playground, road transport building, stationary power building,Golden valley light railway, Butterley park miniature railway, Princess Royal Class Locomotive Trust, sales stands, food outlets and a live band.
We are also delighted to welcome back Tom Said Micropub, a local micro brewery who will be serving a great selection of local brewed cask and keg beers from the likes of Pentrich Brewing Co, Alter Ego Brewing Co, RedDog Ales and Ashover Brewery. We’ll also have Gin from Dancing Anchor Spirits as well as other spirits, wine and cider.
