Description

In this immersive textile workshop, participants will embark on a creative journey to design and construct a textile house while reflecting on the concept of “home.”

Through hands-on sewing, and embroidery each participant will create a personal textile representation of a house that holds significance to them. This workshop invites you to explore the idea of home not just as a physical space, but as an emotional, cultural, and personal sanctuary.

What to Expect:

Introduction to Textile Techniques: Learn a variety of basic textile skills, including hand sewing, and embroidery.

Crafting and Creating: Using a range of fabrics, threads, and materials, participants will construct their house, adding elements that reflect their unique understanding of home.

Group Discussion: As we sew and create, we’ll gather for an open discussion about what home means. Participants are encouraged to share their thoughts, stories, and cultural perspectives, exploring how home can be defined in many different ways.

Personal Reflection: The workshop will conclude with a moment for self-reflection, allowing participants to connect the symbolism of their textile houses to their own lives.

Who Should Attend: This workshop is open to anyone interested in textiles, crafting, and introspection. No prior sewing experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and creativity!

Materials Provided: A selection of fabrics, threads, needles, and sewing tools will be provided, along with templates and inspiration to help guide your process. Participants are welcome to bring personal materials that are meaningful to them, such as fabric scraps, buttons, or textiles that hold personal significance.

Takeaways: By the end of the workshop, participants will have crafted a unique textile house that reflects their personal interpretation of “home,” along with a deeper understanding of how our connections to home shape who we are

Suitable for adults. Booking essential.
