History of Derby Day – Home Educators

Join the Derby Museums Learning Team for a ‘History of Derby’ talk for young people aged 4 – 18 years of age and in Home Education.

Learning Programmer John Banks will explore the history of Derby, using objects from the Museums collections to showcase the vast and diverse history of the city and the broad range of our collections. After a talk in The Wardwick, there will be an opportunity to handle and draw the real life and replica objects. We encourage families to tour the three sites after the session with their new-found knowledge of Derby and its history!

The Learning team will also be using this session to find out what families and the young people themselves want from their local museums as a home education provision and will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire at the end of the talk. This is entirely optional and any questions can be discussed with the team on the date of delivery.

Booking essential, we are asking parents to accompany young people in this session.

Parents and children aged 4 and under attend for free and do not need to book.
