Dracula Lunchtime Bites - Halloween in Transylvania: Excitement & Disappointment

Description

A series of short lunchtime talks, intended for a general audience, delivered by specialists in Dracula, the Gothic and horror. A perfect distraction while you’re eating your lunch!

Transylvania! The word conjures up images of somewhere remote, magical and slightly scary. In this talk, Dr Duncan Light looks at our ideas of Transylvania as a place of myth and magic – and also looks at how the reality of Transylvania doesn’t always live up to expectations.

This talk is free, but you need to book in advance (it takes less than a minute). Details of how to join the talk will be emailed to you during the morning of 30 October.

This event is part of Dracula Returns to Derby, an AHRC-funded research project led by the University of Derby in partnership with Derby Museums, Derby Theatre, Bournemouth University and Sheffield Hallam University. A series of public workshops and events connect the city with the world’s most famous vampire: derby.ac.uk/dracula.
