Description
Award-winning poet Andrew McMillan joins us with his debut novel, Pity, which is set across three generations of a South Yorkshire mining family. It was a Sunday Times Best Book of 2024 and one of the most anticipated books of last year.
The story is a lament for a lost way of life as well as a celebration of resilience and the possibility for change, exploring themes of community, masculinity and post-industrial northern England.
‘A deeply felt and rich enactment of love, loneliness and personal triumph that leaves an indelible mark on modern Queer life‘ – Ocean Vuong
