OUR FOOD AT ‘THE CATCH AT THE COW!’

The Cornish coast has arrived at The Cow!

We wanted to do something special, something different, something new and exciting. Many of our customers are looking to eat healthier, and many enjoy fish and seafood. However, finding high-quality fresh produce in the middle of Derbyshire isn’t easy…

In Chef Nathan Senior, who was previously at our sister pub, The Meynell Ingram Arms, we had a Cornishman, passionate about the produce of his home county and especially fish. So we jumped at the chance to hand over The Cow kitchen to such a skilled and knowledgeable chef.

Nathan expressed his ambition to bring the joy of Cornish fish and seafood to local people, and to this end, he went back to Cornwall to set up supplies from boats in Newlyn, Looe, Mevagissey and other Cornish ports. It is imperative that we receive fish as fresh as possible, and to this end, we have set up a system to take fish landed on the day, packed on ice and delivered to The Cow the following morning.

While the restaurant’s focus is on Cornish Seafood, there are options such as prime Derbyshire beef and vegan, vegetarian options to provide something for all tastes.

We are thrilled to announce that Chef Nathan and his talented kitchen team are now able to open the restaurant on Monday and Tuesday evenings from 11th April 2022. So, you can now enjoy delicious fresh seafood (and more) any night of the week.
