Stargazing Walk - Part of Derby Walking Festival

23rd May 2019 £4

Stargazing Walk, 9pm

With Beyond the Pencil

Join us on a short walk around Alvaston Park to search out cosmic treasures. Find out about planets, stars, galaxies and black holes.

How can you tell the difference between a planet and a star? How can you navigate using the stars? Would a black hole fit in your coffee cup? We hope to answer all these things and more as we walk around one of Derby's Green Flag Award Parks.

Difficulty: Easy.

Mostly paths. The walk passes over grass in one part, but a path option is available.

Distance: 1 mile

Practical information: A small section of the walk will be across grass, please wear appropriate footwear. Toilets available in the park and café. This walk will not be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions unless they are so extreme the safety of participants becomes compromised.  In the unlikely event that this walk needs to be cancelled, updates will be posted on the Facebook page.
