A guided tour and a fascinating talk looking into the historical development of dogs as pets by The Kennel Club Collections Manager.

Begin the day with refreshments in the Cavendish restaurant followed by a tour of the house with an expert guide. After Ciara Farrell, Kennel Club Library and Collections Manager, will give an illustrated talk on the historical development of dogs as workers and companions - in particular the rise in pet culture and decline in the use of dogs in a working context with emphasis in the rise of pedigree dog breeding, dog showing and gun sports in the 19th century. 

Enjoy a delectable two-course lunch in the Stables and the afternoon is free for you to explore the house and garden at your leisure. 

The price includes lunch, as well as entry to the house and garden on the day.
