Holocaust Memorial Day Event 2020

Admission is FREE but strictly limited; please book in advance

An evening of words, music and dance with this year’s theme Stand Together, which explores how genocidal regimes throughout history have deliberately fractured societies by marginalising certain groups, and how these tactics can be challenged by individuals standing together with their neighbours, and speaking out against oppression.

In addition, expect poignant, moving and inspiring performances, including spoken word, poetry, traditional songs, music and dance, from Derby’s Jewish, Ukrainian, Gypsy, Armenian, Iranian and Bosnian groups, local schools plus contributions from many more of Derby’s diverse communities.  This years’ keynote speakers are Derek Niemann, the grandson of an SS Officer, and Noemie Lopian, the daughter of two Holocaust survivors.
