Historic Textiles and Conservation Tour

A guided tour of the most special textiles on display in the house with visits behind-the-scenes to our textile archives and conservation room.

Begin the day with a guided of the house focusing on key pieces from the collection including and explore our textile archives and conservation room*. End the morning with refreshments and an illustrated talk exploring weaving and knotting techniques as well as our ongoing conservation projects. This is a real must for anybody who is interested in how we care for historic cloth and is keen to see our vast archive not on public display and is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a tour of the house before it is open for the day to visitors.

The day includes refreshments and the afternoon free for you to explore the house and garden at your leisure. 

Entry to the house and garden is included with your ticket. 

*Please be aware that the route to the textile archives and conservation rooms includes stairs and has no lift access.

10am to 12.30pm.
