ANTIGONUS AND THE BEAR

13th December 2018 - 27th January 2019 FREE

Derby-based 1623 Theatre Company is all about seeing Shakespeare differently. Here, digital artist Darius Powell and artistic director Ben Spiller respond to Joseph Wright’s painting The Winter’s Tale (1789-90), by re-imagining its creation in the digital age. This exciting new artwork takes the place of another of Wright’s scenes from Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet, as it travels to the Louvre-Lens Museum in France for a major temporary exhibition called Love.
