Hardwick Hall is an Elizabethan showstopper in Derbyshire, surrounded by 2,000 acres of grade I listed parkland, just 30 minutes from Derby. It was the formidable 'Bess of Hardwick' who created Hardwick Hall in the late 16th Century. Since then, her descendants, farmers, gardeners, builders, decorators, embroiderers and craftsmen of all kinds, have contributed to and made Hardwick their creation. Full of architectural and artistic delights from Elizabethan embroidery and tapestries to historic portraits and fabulous furniture.

Surrounding the hall, explore our grade I listed garden, take a countryside walk on one of our marked trails, enjoy panoramic views and have fun with the all the family. The restaurant is open daily for freshly baked goods and delicious food. As you leave, pop to the shop for locally sourced gifts or a second hand book.

Do visit our website for the latest what’s on, seasonal highlights, opening times and admission prices. We look forward to welcoming you.
