A hop, skip and a jump away from the wine bar in Darley Abbey; The Cottonworks sits in the oldest building within the Darley Abbey Mills complex, nestled away in the Cotton Yard on the banks of the river Derwent.
Born out of a love of really good food, wine & coffee by friends David; owner of Lorentes Restaurant and Andy & Nichol from Darley Abbey Wines, the idea for The Cottonworks is inspired by those little Cornish seaside social hang out’s that serve really great coffee’s and brunches by day, before morphing into lovely intimate bistro’s by night.
The Cottonworks Cafe is a neighbourhood gathering place with barista-served speciality coffees and teas, brunch’s and chalkboard lunch’s during the day as well as a bustling Sunday 'breakfast club’.
The Cottonworks Bistro offers something a little more intimate Wednesday to Saturday evenings where our Head Chef; George and his team serve Mediterranean inspired, seasonal dishes using the freshest ingredients. We let George break from the Mediterranean theme on Sunday’s in his quest to serve up Derbyshire’s finest Sunday lunch although there are plenty of hearty Mediterranean red wines to go with that slow roast rib of beef!
