Museum and Art Gallery on The Wardwick

Derby Museums has temporarily closed its doors to the public in response to the government’s latest advice concerning the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. This means the Museum & Art Gallery, Pickford’s House and the Silk Mill are now closed until further notice. Please visit our News page and social media channels for updates.

Derby’s stunning red brick former Central Library building was designed in 1876 in Flemish Gothic style. Its striking arched entrance, beautiful glass atrium and ornate mezzanine balcony, full of curiosities, make this a unique and stylish venue , located in the very heart of the city.

With a licensed bar and room for 200 guests to dance the night away, it offers a fantastic space to mark not only a special occasion, but the flexibility for larger scale events including weddings, conferences and fairs.

This space can be set up for different uses which will change the available capacity. The numbers below should be used as a guide when booking.

  • Banqueting: 200 people
  • Standing: 200 people

  • Free high speed wifi
  • Projector available
  • PA system

If you'd like to have a chat about venue hire options please give Christine a call on 01332 641901. Our spaces can be set up for different uses - we're sure to be able to help with whatever you need.
