Burger off to Derby!

10th December 2014

I’m relishing the chance to share a pun-packed bun-stacked experience with you, thanks to the recent boost of burger bistros and bars that Derby has tossed our way.

Flipping ‘eck,  the choice is mouth-watering and will have your taste-buds crying out for more.  Full blown carnivores and devote vegetarians are welcome into this land of juicy, sizzling lusciousness where the choice of toppings, rolls and thickness may fry your brain cells.

The Forge Bar & Gourmet Grill totally thrives off burgering – yes, a term endearingly just cooked up (by me) to capture the beauty of this hearty, satisfying dining experience. Take your finger-licking pick from 25 lovingly crafted creations boosted by ‘burger of the month’ bonuses based on Facebook follower suggestions. Not sure if the Chilli & Chocolate request passed the grilling though.

Monday night is The Burger Depot night at the Silk Mill Ale & Cider House. Named after dynamic figureheads, choose between the Darwin, Newton, Brunel and Columbus to name but a few – all with toppings to suit the spiciness of their characters.  You can even tuck into a HOT DOG shaped burger just in case you’re bored with the traditional round burger experience. Hope Harry Stevens, Derby born hot-dog inventor, would approve?

The Exeter Arms challenges you to Meat the Heat with their hand-formed burger stuffed with jalapenos, with a top up teaser to entice super heat heroes to Turn Up the Heat for an extra £1. You may want to go cheesy and opt for the Viking with stilton instead with a dollop of Dancing Duck Brewery’s Cumberland chutney on the side?

Let’s face it, Derby has everything a burger lover would love and we’d certainly love to welcome you here, so burger off to Derby soon!
