Middle Bound: Exploring the Social Fabric at the Heart of England

20th February 2018 - 11th March 2018

QUAD Gallery becomes a workshop and an open studio, made accessible to everybody, where artistic and creative work can be viewed as it happens. Intended to foster creativity and encourage experimentation in an atmosphere of cultural exchange, conversation and freedom of expression with the goal of developing, conceptualising and building an exhibition. Under the direction of Patrick Waterhouse and Tim Wan, with the support of Mauro Bedoni, selected participants from all backgrounds, ethnicities and interests, meet for a week to investigate communities, places and things in Derby and the Midlands across the fields of writing, photography, video, illustration, visual communication and art and design.

The exhibition will be an evolving installation that will explore communities across the Midlands. It will display both past and present, mapping out how we relate to each other.

The workshop and the exhibition are organised by QUAD with the support of the University of Derby. For more information and updates, visit www.middle-bound.co.uk
